ATTC Summer League – Week 4 Recap

Week 4 delivered exactly what the ATTC Summer League has been building toward: big matchups, big upsets, and a leaderboard that suddenly feels a little less comfortable at the top.

The headline of the night came in Round 3, when Kendall Swartzentruber handed Rocky Lee his first loss of the season in a tight 2-1 battle. Rocky had been perfect through the league up to that point, but Kendall stepped up in the biggest match of the night and proved the top spot is not untouchable.

Rocky still had a strong night overall, finishing 3-1 with wins over Justin Gingerich, Jonathan Sears, and Mike Shiles. Even with the loss, Rocky remains firmly in first place with 30.5 points and a 15-1 overall record.

Kendall also finished 3-1, opening with wins over Jonathan Bauman and Ben Little before taking down Rocky. His only loss came in Round 4, where Durell Willey pulled off a huge 2-1 win to close the night. Kendall now sits tied with Jonathan Sears for second place at 23.5 points.

One of the biggest stories of the night was Justin Gingerich, who made an immediate impact. After losing to Rocky in Round 1, Justin rattled off three straight wins over Durell Willey, Jonathan Sears, and Jonathan Bauman to finish 3-1 in his first night of league play.

Durell Willey had a strong night as well, finishing 3-1 with wins over Eric Hudgens, Ben Little, and Kendall Swartzentruber. His Round 4 win over Kendall was one of the night’s biggest results and showed once again that Durell can be dangerous against anyone in the room.

Jonathan Sears finished 2-2, picking up wins over Cliff Breazeale and Ben Little while dropping tough matches to Rocky Lee and Justin Gingerich. Even with the .500 night, Jonathan remains tied for second in the overall standings and still very much in the hunt.

Jonathan Bauman and Cliff Breazeale both finished 2-2, Eric Hudgens picked up a win over Mike Shiles, Ben Little grabbed an opening-round win over Mike, and Mike Shiles battled through a tough four-round schedule.

After four nights, Rocky still leads the pack, but Week 4 proved the race is far from over. Kendall is closing ground, Jonathan Sears is still right there, and new challengers like Justin Gingerich are making the field even tougher.

With the leaderboard tightening and the upsets starting to pile up, Week 5 is shaping up to be another must-watch night at ATTC.
