ATTC Summer League Week 2 Recap

Week 2 of the ATTC Summer League brought another packed night of competition as players battled through four rounds of Swiss play. With the lighting issues from Week 1 now behind us, the focus shifted fully to the action on the tables — and the race for the top of the standings is already heating up.

The story of the night was once again Rocky Lee, who continued his dominant start to the season with another perfect 4-0 performance. Rocky didn’t drop a single match all evening and now sits at an incredible 8-0 overall, firmly holding the top spot in the league standings after two nights of play. His consistency, control, and ability to finish points under pressure have made him the early favorite heading into Week 3.

The battle behind him is already getting crowded.

Morris Beiler and Jonathan Sears each turned in strong performances to move to 6-2 overall, tied on score with 12 points apiece. Morris put together another steady night with wins over Cliff Breazeale, Durrel Willey, Nate Wilson, and Jonas Lawson, while Jonathan picked up key victories over Billy Brisher, Eric Hudgens, and Durrel Willey to stay right in the title hunt.

Kendall Swartzentruber rebounded nicely after an early loss to Rocky Lee, finishing the night 3-1 and climbing to fourth place overall. Meanwhile, Cory Wilson continued his strong season with another solid showing, moving into a tie with Kendall at 10.5 points through two weeks.

Several players picked up important momentum-building wins during the night. Billy Brisher split his matches to finish 2-2 in his Week 2 debut, while Durrel Willey battled through multiple close matches and earned a hard-fought win over Cliff Breazeale in Round 3. Nate Wilson and Eric Hudgens also collected key victories to keep themselves within striking distance as the standings begin to take shape.

One of the biggest takeaways from the first two weeks has been just how competitive the middle of the standings remains. A single strong night could completely reshuffle the leaderboard, especially with the league using the “Best 5 Nights” scoring format. With several weeks still remaining, nobody is out of contention yet. Be sure to check out the Leaderboard.

Week 3 is shaping up to be a big one as players look to chase down Rocky Lee at the top and establish themselves in the playoff race. The intensity is building fast — and summer league is just getting started.
